WOW!!! Lets do it again next year!!!!

What an incredible day at the Run 4 Megan!!! Over 500 people joined in on the fun and came together to celebrate Megan!!! Thank you everyone for being there and spending the day with us!!! It was great to see you all!!! Thank you, friends, for stepping up to volunteer. We had people who came from Washington State, as well as folks who braved Highway 74 to get there. We had one long distance runner, (Dont worry Kirk, I won't mention your name) who challenged himself to run the course 10 times. He did that... then ran lap #11!!! My 84 year old dad, Megan's grandpa, (sorry I told your age Dad) came up from San Diego to help with registration. Megan's cousins came from Victorville to work the water station and the refreshment stand. I saw so many friendly faces there, everyone so supportive. What a great way to spend a Sunday!

Here are some photos with many more to follow!!!Please send me your photos from Sunday, since I was too busy psyching myself up for 3 miles and didn't take any!

Truly, Gail, the pleasure was entirely mine on Sunday. A few miles, some sweat, some discomfort, and I was done. That was nothing alongside the trials of endurance that you and your wonderful family face with such bravery each and every day. I can't thank you enough for allowing me the privilege of being there and of meeting you and your family. Perhaps, with your blessing, I'll be allowed the honor again next year.

With much respect,
Kirk

Hi Mrs. Myers,
My name is Chelsea Ernst and I am on the Capo Valley Cross Country Team. I was truly affected by Megan last year and she has made a large impact on my life& how i now treasure everyday. I thought you'd like to know that for my spanish class at school we make dia day los muetos projects - meaning "day of the dead" projects where the spanish culture honors and celebrates the life of one they have lost. The project consists of decorating a shoebox, as if it were a tomb, with candles, flowers, and three things that remind you of that person. I have chosen to do my project on Megan. Although I never knew her I can tell that she was a truly amazing person. I just thought you'd like to know about the project, and that I will never forget Megan.

Hope you and family are doing well,
Chelsea Ernst
